Aloke Lohia is the founder, Vice Chairman & Group CEO of Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited. From 1979 to 1987 he was the Finance Director of P.T. Indo Rama Synthetics, Indonesia, and in 1988 he founded his group in Thailand that is now called Indorama Ventures PCL.

Aloke has lived in Thailand for over 20 years during which time he has founded Indorama Ventures as global Polyester Value Chain Company. Aloke started Thailand’s first PET business (Indorama Polymers) in 1995 and listed the company on Thai stock exchange in 2005. Indorama Polymer became the largest PET polymers company in the world by 2010. In February 2010, Lohia delisted Indorama Polymers and simultaneously listed its parent company Indorama Ventures on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

As per Forbes Aug 2011 rankings, Aloke Lohia has a net worth of $2.1 Billion and is ranked as the 6th richest person in Thailand.

Aloke was educated at Delhi University where he received Bachelor of Commerce degree. He also holds an honorary Ph.D from Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep in Thailand.

In 2011 Aloke was appointed an Honorary Investment Advisor to the Royal Thai government.
